By becoming a DCTV member you can enjoy access to state-of-the-art production equipment, including all-digital studios, editing suites and meeting facilities. We offer our members ongoing classes in all aspects of training – producing to video technician to post-production. We also offer seminars that enhance even the most skilled professional portfolio, or, you can hire DCTV as your technical production team. Besides, your programs will be telecast on our channels: Comcast 95 & 96 and RCN 10 & 11, reaching over 140,000 households in the District of Columbia.

After you join as an Active DCTV Member and complete a free Introduction to DCTV class:
	Submit programs and PSAs for telecast on the public access channels.
	Take training classes to certify to use equipment.
	After certification, produce programs for the communities of the city using digital production equipment, editing and studios.
	Schedule "EZTV" studio productions at inexpensive flat rates.
	Hire production services (including editing and applying credits) at subsidized rates.
	Participate in opportunities to have your programs recognized.

Individual membership is $30 per year. Please make your check or money order payable to DCTV. If you join at the DCTV facility, DCTV also accepts cash, Master Card, Visa and American Express. See below to download the application.

In order to join or renew as an Active DCTV Member – with opportunities to use our facilities, equipment, and training, and to submit programming, you must supply a valid government ID and separate documentation of your home address, in addition to your membership application and membership fee. DC residency is not required for membership – all members are required to provide ID and proof of their home address, regardless of where they reside. Please read below for an explanation of required ID and home address documents.

What forms of ID do we accept for new and renewing Active DCTV members?

We accept only government issued IDs, such as:

• Passports
• Driver’s licenses
• Non-driver’s ID
• Government employee ID

• Public housing or social services ID
  

…AND ONLY if the ID has an expiration date, AND is still current.

What forms of documentation do we accept as proof of home address for Active DCTV Members?

• Bill or notarized residency verification statement from a landlord or property manager;
• Utility bill “tied to the residence” – electricity, water, land line phone, cable, gas;
• Medical statement or correspondence, can include medical insurance statement;
• Letter or bill from a government agency, such as – a letter from DMV, parking authority or IRS, a jury summons, etc.; or
• Letter or paycheck stub from an employer

 …AND ONLY if the document is dated within the previous 60 days AND addressed to the person seeking/renewing membership, at the same address provided on the membership application.

WE ALSO ACCEPT signed, current leases dated within the last year, and with the new member named as a tenant, lessee or sub lessee. 

DCTV will not accept the following items as ID nor proof of home address:

• Voter registration cards
• Motor vehicle registration cards
• Leases that are past the original expiration date, even if they have been extended on a month-to-month basis
• Medical insurance CARDS that do not have an expiration date
• Cell phone bills
