To begin or renew your Active DCTV membership, you must supply a valid ID & separate documentation of your home address, in addition to your membership application and fee. Click here to see the list of accepted documents.

You can also join as a Supporting Friend of DCTV (with voting privileges, but without active use of DCTV facilities & services).

DCTV ORGANIZATION SERVICES –
Bringing the Community To You

At DCTV, we help organizations look beyond basic communications activities, including the public service announcement approach to using television.  DCTV works with organizations to create digital content that has greater impact and better serves the mission of the organization.  DCTV’s Services help organizations reach wider audiences, through the production of high quality, cost-effective digital content that is aired on DCTV’s channels that reach more than 300,000 viewers.

Organizations can use DCTV to educate the public about important issues, promote programs and services, and recruit clients, volunteers and job applicants.  DCTV provides a variety of service packages that can include event coverage, video distribution assistance, production consulting and use of DCTV’s Smart Room – a high-tech, fully equipped event space that is Metro accessible

.  DCTV Organization Services packages include: 

Basic Organization Membership & Broadcast Package
Member Fee: $150

  • Post messages and events on the televised DCTV Video Bulletin Board
  • Submit programs and Public Service Announcements (PSAs) for telecast on the public access channels, that reach 300,000 viewers
  • Hire production services at subsidized rates

Summer Production Packagee (Expires September 12, 2009)
Member Fee: $500

  • Strategic communication consulting (1 hour)
  • Production consulting (2 hours)
  • Development of one marketing video or
    Public Service Announcement (PSA) up to 60 seconds
  • Producer’s 8 week course (optional)
  • Two (2) uses of Multimedia Conference Room (up to 4 hours each use)

Director Package
Member Fee: $1,300-$1,610 (market value: $8,962)

  • Three Uses of High-Tech Conference Room
  • Development of marketing video (standard PSA length format), produced in the field or studio
  • Strategic Communication Consulting @ 4 hours
  • Program Distribution Assistance
  • Access to Online Resources

Producer Package
Member Fee: $3,100-$4,100 (market value: $18,800)

  • Option A: Program Development (5 to 7- minute marketing video)

  • Staff Training (condensed producer, basic camera and directing for 1 staff member)

Member Fee: $1,650-$2,200 (market rate: $5,560)

  • Distribution Assistance (4 hours)
  • Program Distribution & Marketing
  • Staff Training (condensed producer, basic camera and directing for one staff member)
  • Promo development  (1 hour)

 MEMBERSHIP OVERVIEW
The Broadcast Package is required for use of facilities and to telecast programs on the public access channels. (This includes an Annual Membership.)

1.
Submit Membership Application with supporting documents and payment (see below).
2.
Register up to four Designees to act on behalf of your Organization. (Authorized list on back)
Submit  one Designee Registration form per individual.
3.
Attend free Introduction to DCTV (required session prior to any facility or channel use).

Please provide a copy of one of the following along with your Application:
        

 
   *  Business License license or other official document that verifies the name and        address
 
OR
     *  Annual Report or certificate of tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status.
