POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
 
 

 

The Public Access Corporation of DC (DCTV) is accepting contractors and trainers skilled in all aspects of video production, including: studio operation, ENG camera, editing and/or the ability to train in one or all of these areas.

All positions are based on a per project basis. Most studio shoots (projects) range from 2 to the 3 hours.

We pay up to $100 for directors and technical directors and up to $75 for all other studio crew positions. The compensation for ENG techs is based on the duration of the shoot as well as the tech’s level of experience. Compensation ranges between $100 and $200 per shoot. Most ENG shoots range from 3 to 5 hours.

DCTV is a membership-based, non-profit, public access television station dedicated to building communities through telecommunications. Since 1988, DCTV has allowed residents of the District of Columbia, young and old, the opportunity to create a nd telecast their own shows for DC communities on cable television. Our Mission is:

  • To provide opportunities for community residents and organizations to create noncommercial television programs and telecast them on cable channels on a fair and equitable basis, free of censorship or editorial control.

  • To engage the entire community in a dialogue that is broadly representative of its varied perspectives and cultures.

  • To ensure the presence of diverse cultural groups and ideas traditionally unheard or under represented in the media.

Class: PRODUCER

After DCTV 101, members must take this 8 week course as a prerequisite for Field, Studio and Editing Classes.

Memo from Programming

A. Due to the increased number of programs being aired, program submissions must be submitted no later than the 1st of each month for your program to air the following month.

B. For every program submitted, producers MUST include the episode name and/or episode number on the program submission forms and encoded files.

Programs without this information will not be scheduled to air.
